Spreading the word for your fundraising campaign
To have a successful community fundraising campaign you need to spread the word to as many people as possible. Following are a few suggestions that might help:
How to email your fundraising campaign to the people you know
-
Open your abilityfound.org fundraising page in your internet browser
-
In the internet address (URL) area select (Block-out) the entire address for your campaign
-
Go to the 'file' menu on the internet browser and clikc "Copy"
-
In your email browser open a "New message"
- Enter in the email addresses for those people to whom you will be sending your fundraiser
- Put something fun and motivating in the subject line
- Once in the body of the email, go to the 'file' in your email browser and click on "Paste" this will put the link to your fundraising page in the email for the people you know to click on and visit your fundraising campaign page.
How to multiply the effectiveness of your fundraising campaign
Ask the people you know to please send your fundraising campaign page to the people they know
Contact the people on your email list at least 3 times during the fundraiser to keep them posted on the success of your campaign
To greatly multiply your sucess ask those on your email list to forward your campaign link to those on their email list with the same request for those on their email list to send it on. That will multiply your contacts through at lest three levels of interested individuals.
Unfortunatly many people do not use email. To reach these people you can make copies of your campaign page to pass out or send in the mail.
There are many organizations that can help you. Businesses, service and other special interest clubs, sports teams, church groups, non-profit groups and schools. Most likely you or someone close to you is invovled in one of these organizations that can support and promote your effort.
To add excitment and fun to your campaign you can hold an event and invite people to it. Click on "Ideas for a great fundraising campaign" for some event ideas.
