About Our Campaign

Another Christmas is here, and it is the season to again be thankful for the blessings we have received. It is also a time to think of others less fortunate than ourselves and those who are in need of something that we can provide.

This year we plan to help similar to what we did last year, described in the section below.

Ability Found is a tax exempt, non-profit, public supported, IRS authorized 501(c)(3) charity. With your donations we provide much needed and essential assistive medical equipment to those who are disabled and cannot obtain the equipment they need through their own means.

You can be assured your donation to Ability Found is an important, meaningful and effective way to help those around you. Whatever your budget allows, please be generous. With the economy decline,as well as government and insurance cuts, the need has become much greater this year.

As you donate please add your comments to the Charity Christmas blog at https://abilityfound.org/blog/post/Charity-Christmas.aspx. On the blog we will share with you how your donations are spent and who you helped with vital medical and rehabilitation equipment in 2010.

Why you should sponsor our campaign

Last year we had a very successful Christmas experience. With the donations we received, we purchased a wheel chair for a young man living in the four corners area who became paralyzed in an auto accident. We also helped two children with cerebral palsy by purchasing gait trainers for them. A gait trainer is a specialized walking device with support, customized to their special needs.

We were able to negotiate discounts with our medical vendors and add accessories to high quality walkers to convert them into gait trainers. Doing this made your donations go twice as far.

But even better, this equipment has changed the lives of these three people and given them freedom they would never have had without your help. In the letter thanking us for the wheel chair. Elliott told us how grateful he is to now be able to get around in his home and neighborhood. The father of one of the girls who received a gait trainer said, "It is amazing! The gait trainer has become an extension of her body, she goes everywhere with it, even off-roading. She especially loves to go to the video store to pick out new movies. She is unable to walk without it. If it had not been for your generosity we could've never afforded it, thank you."Her mother took the picture shown by mine on this page.
